What We Do
Jecca Engineering provides full Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for utility-scale power infrastructure. As EPCM, we act as a single point of accountability from concept to energisation, managing cost, time, quality and SHEQ under FIDIC / NEC contracts.
Engineering
Feasibility studies, detailed design and the technical drawings behind utility-scale power and solar projects, from 11kV to 420kV.
Feasibility & Concept
Load flow and fault level studies (DigSilent, ETAP), route selection, soil resistivity, LIDAR survey and EIA support.
Substation Design
Detailed design of substations from 11kV to 420kV, including GA layouts, earthmat, lightning protection, busbar, CT/VT sizing and steelwork.
Overhead Line Design
PLS-CADD tower spotting, sag-tension calculations and foundation design (pad & chimney, pile and rock anchor).
Protection & Control
Single line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, protection grading, relay setting files and SCADA points list (IEC 61850).
Solar Farm Design
PVsyst yield studies, DC block design, cable sizing, 33/132kV collector design and grid code compliance (ZETDC / SAPP).
Power System Studies
Arc flash, harmonic analysis, insulation coordination, dynamic stability, earthing (IEEE 80) and lightning protection.
Drawing Office
Drawing evaluation and analysis, structural and steel details, plate work and liners, sheeting, flooring, conveyors, bins and shaft steelwork.
Procurement
We procure as agent of the Client under a transparent, auditable process, sourcing from Tier 1 manufacturers and managing the equipment from factory to site.
Back-to-Back Procurement
A transparent, auditable process in which we buy as the Client's agent, so you see exactly what is ordered and what it costs.
Equipment Sourcing
Transformers up to 500MVA, switchgear (AIS/GIS), towers, conductors, insulators, OPGW, inverters, trackers and PV modules from Tier 1 OEMs such as Sungrow, BYD, Huawei, ABB, Siemens, Schneider and SEL.
Vendor Management
Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), expediting, logistics, customs clearance (Beitbridge/Durban) and storage at our Harare yard.
Culvert Pipes & Concrete Poles
Reinforced concrete and steel culvert pipes for roads, trails and railways, and concrete electric poles for power lines. Local manufacturers are preferred, including CAFCA cables, Zimchem and local steel fabricators.
Construction
Civil, electrical and solar construction delivered with our own equipment and crews, and proven through full testing and commissioning.
Civil Works
Tower foundations, substation terraces, piling for solar trackers (45,000 piles completed at Zimplats), roads, drainage and buildings.
Substation Construction
Earthmat installation (under 1 ohm), steel erection, primary plant installation and control building fit-out.
Overhead Line Construction
Wayleave clearance, foundations, tower assembly and erection with our 80T crane fleet, conductor stringing with tension stringing machines (up to 4-conductor bundle), OPGW splicing and testing.
Solar Construction
Tracker installation (Nextracker / Arctech), module mounting, DC stringing, and inverter station and BESS integration (5MWh containers).
Testing & Commissioning
Primary and secondary injection, CT/VT ratio, insulation and contact resistance, relay trip testing, interlock checks, SCADA / NCC integration to the ZETDC National Control Centre, and for solar: I-V curve tracing, thermal imaging and PAC testing.
Roofing Services
Domestic and commercial roofs built with timber framing and asphalt shingles, metal, tile or slate, from design and material selection to installation and finishing.
Management
Our EPCM differentiator: one team accountable for cost, time, quality and safety, from concept to energisation, under FIDIC / NEC contracts.
Project Controls
MS Project / Primavera P6, earned value, weekly dashboards and cost forecasting.
Contract Administration
FIDIC Yellow/Silver Book, variation management, claims prevention and back-to-back subcontracting.

ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001, the SHEQ file for ZETDC approval, and a zero LTI record on Zimplats 35MW.
Owner's Engineer
Independent oversight, design reviews, construction QA/QC, witnessing SAT, as-built documentation, O&M manual handover and training of the Client O&M team.
Asset Care & Condition Monitoring
Vibration monitoring, thermography, tribology and destructive and non-destructive testing to find hidden defects and prevent breakdowns.
Lifecycle Support
24-month defects liability, asset management planning, spares optimisation and O&M contract options.

Only Zimbabwean contractor to have built 35MWac solar + 132kV cut-in/out + 45MVA substation as EPCM (Zimplats).
